Shortcut keys and secondary functions calculate the following: area, volume, perimeter, wall area, angle (degrees, slope, in/ft), area of trapezoid, area/perimeter/angles of triangles, three indirect tilt sensor measurement modes (1- Overall height of trees, power lines, towers, large structures. 2- Roof calculations, rafter length, roof slope 3. Direct horizontal distance), add/subtract values, stake out equal distances, profile function, constant memory and last 30 values recall memory, three modes of Pythagoras, time delay, min/max/continuous.

Thanks to the in-built tilt sensor, you can quickly and simply measure tilts up to ± 360°. The tilt sensor also allows you to measure absolute horizontal distances or measure past obstructions, or measure the elevation of a tree, even though there is no reflective point.

• Integrated BLUETOOTH® technology, measurement
results can be wirelessly and accurately transferred to laptops,
tablets, and desktop PC running windows’s based operating
systems. Thus you can easily process your data in Excel®,
Word®, AutoCAD® and other programs.

• Free transfer software “Leica
DISTO™ Transfer” – easy to install and with automatic updates. The AutoCAD® plug-in additionally allows convenient planning and drawing with your AutoCAD® software.

The integrated digital Point-Finder with a 4x zoom and 2.4“ color display makes finding the target at long distances much easier. Its high resolution capability provides a sharp, crystal-clear image, which allows measurements to be taken even in glaring sunshine.

•Easily switches between 3 measurement modes: feet, inches, fractions of inches; feet and 10ths of feet; and metric.

• Power Range Technology™
The integrated Power Range Technology™ allows you to measure long distances very simply. Measure up to 100 m without a target plate in bright conditions, and even up to 200 m using a target plate or reflective surface.

• Spot-on measurement
The laser makes it possible! The laser dot is clearly visible, therefore you always know exactly where you are measuring, which is especially useful in difficult to access places. So you can take absolutely precise measurements, even over long distances.

• Details displayed
Additional information about the measurements, e.g. room dimensions or angles, is available at the touch of a button.

The D8 is powered by 2 AA batteries, has a ¼-20 tripod mount, and multifunction end piece for corner measurements or access to tight spaces. Accuracy is 1mm and range is 650 feet. New long range mode allows for longer measurements in the 300ft range without a reflective target plate when mounted on a tripod. Unit can display measurements in your choice of 14 modes of m, ft, in, yds. IP54 protected measures 5.65”x2.12”x1.18”.
